Professional Profile

Dr. David Bradley completed his primary medical degree at UCD in 2003 with first class honours and several undergraduate awards. He completed general professional training at St. Vincent’s University Hospital before completing Higher Specialist Training in Neurology through the RCPI. As part of training, he completed a PhD in Neural Engineering through TCD and St Vincent’s University Hospital, with several international publications and young investigator awards. The main theme of his thesis was physiological, imaging and genetic investigation of Adult-Onset Primary Torsion Dystonia. He was awarded the Richard Steevens scholarship by the HSE to complete a fellowship in Stroke Medicine and Neuro-oncology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square in London. He has also completed the RCPI Diploma in Stroke and Cerebrovascular Diseases and the higher diploma in statistics at TCD. He was appointed to St James’s Hospital as a Consultant Neurologist with a subspecialty commitment to Stroke Medicine in 2013 and is currently the clinical lead for neurology services. He also has a subspecialty interest in Parkinson’s Disease and other movement disorders and provides ambulatory and inpatient services across the entire range of neurological disorders. He is appointed as a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Department of Clinical Medicine, TCD, and sits on the Irish Heart Foundation Council on Stroke.
